Name change of _wige MEDIA AG to SPORTTOTAL AG immediately effective. The new name does fit much better to the future business strategie.

_wige MEDIA  AG’s new name is now SPORTTOTAL AG. The company’s new name, approved by the Annual General Meeting on 20 July 2017, has meanwhile been entered into the commercial register.

SPORTTOTAL AG has geared its value creation one hundred percent to sport and concentrated it in the three business lines of VENUES, LIVE and DIGITAL. VENUES implements the technical infrastructure necessary for the medialisation of sports events, both national and international. The LIVE business line organises and markets events and provides branded content for this purpose. In, the DIGITAL business line has built up a quickly scalable digital business model. is to become Europe’s most important digital video platform. is an independent TV streaming station with it’s own broadcasting licence which allows it to sell its own content and create its own digital reach. The central element is formed by amateur sport which has so far not been documented because of the high investment hurdles. To further this goal, went into partnership with the Israeli company Pixellot to develop unrivalled exclusive access to the world’s leading automated video technology. Following the successful conclusion of the pilot phase, entered into an exclusive 10-year contract with the German Football Association (DFB) to which all 21 national and five regional associations belong.
