Jewish football clubs receive camera system and MAKKABI app for live broadcast of their games. Market launch is in honor and in memory of sporttotal.tv project manager Ben Lesegeld.
Strengthening the Jewish Gymnastics and Sports Association in Germany: Launch of the first MAKKABI app
Frankfurt/Cologne, 28. May, 2018.
MAKKABI Germany and sporttotal.tv gmbh, a subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG (formerly _wige MEDIA AG), are presenting a new app that is geared to the activities of the Jewish Gymnastics and Sport Association (MAKKABI): this gadget makes it possible to broadcast the matches of approximately 4,000 active Jewish athletes in Germany, their teams, live, on demand or make highlight clips available to the fans.
Alon Meyer, president of the Jewish sports club TuS Makkabi:
„The Jewish sports movement in Germany is growing and becoming more attractive. The fact that soon live broadcasts or highlight clips of games of our clubs will be on display, is proof of the great work. We as MAKKABI Germany are particularly pleased that this positive development will now reach a wider audience.“
The first necessary camera system is already installed in Munich and Frankfurt is currently being installed. Further camera locations will follow in the coming months, e.g. in Cologne and in Berlin. The Israeli technology partner Pixellot provides three cameras for this project free of charge.

As a very active Maccabee and project manager of sporttotal.tv, many of Ben Lesegeld’s ideas and experiences flowed into programming. After his unexpected death earlier this year, the app will now be made available to the Jewish athletes free of charge in his memory.
In addition, a bridge to the Israeli-German relationship is to be created:

Following on from 30.05 – 03.06.2018 in Munich, the Makkabi Junior Games will present the details of the app in the Prinzregent Hotel.
On the afternoon of June 3, the President of the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) Dr. Ing. Rainer Koch, President of Makkabi Germany Alon Meyer and Peter Lauterbach, CEO of SPORTTOTAL AG, the technical innovation and its functions.
Following this introduction, a tour of the unique 180 degree camera technology on the adjacent sports facility is possible.
