Cologne, 9 January 2019. SPORTTOTAL LIVE GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG, relies on strong partners for the ADAC TOTAL 24h race: sports exhaust manufacturer REMUS, previously technical partner of renowned 24-hour teams, is now also sponsoring the prestigious Nürburgring race. SPORTTOTAL’s very successful media partnership with RTL Group is also to be continued. In 2018, the media group set new viewer records at the 46th ADAC 24-hour race on both NITRO and RTL. The spectacular race, which SPORTTOTAL LIVE markets worldwide as rights holder and promoter and which has recently won a new title sponsor in the form of international oil and gas group TOTAL, is to be held from 20 to 23 June 2019 at the Nürburgring.

Successful media partnership with RTL Group to be continued

The RTL Group has decided to continue as a media partner for the upcoming years to the racing series, which will once again be broadcast on NITRO, Germany’s leading channel for male audiences. The partnership agreement with SPORTTOTAL LIVE GmbH has been extended accordingly. “The number of spectators at the 24-hour race has risen continuously over recent years, which enables us to achieve high market shares in the target group of men aged 14-59 years. The 24-hour race is clearly one of the motorsport highlights of the year,” remarks NITRO station boss Oliver Schablitzki. The “Race in the Green Hell” on NITRO, the RTL Group’s leading men’s channel, achieved new records in 2018 with daily market shares of up to 3.8 percent in the target group of 14-59 year-old men. At its peak, the channel achieved a market share with the 24-hour race of 12.4 percent in the target group of men aged 14-59 years. The race highlights broadcast on the main RTL channel as part of the Barcelona Formula 1 race also achieved very good results with up to 4.73 million viewers and a 31.6 percent market share.

REMUS visible and audible at 24h race

REMUS, the new sponsor of the 47th edition of the legendary race, will not only be visible with its logo on boards, onboard signs and the rear windows of the 160 participating racing cars, but will also remain “audible”. The sports exhaust manufacturer has been represented for several years with its unmistakable sound as a technical partner of renowned teams at the 24-hour race. “Numerous teams in motor sports rely on our products’ reliability, robustness and top performance – characteristics that are also required on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife,” notes Stephan Zöchling, CEO of the REMUS-SEBRING Group, explaining his company’s additional commitment as sponsor.

Strong partners underpin race format’s success

“Both the sponsorship agreement with REMUS and the continuation of the media partnership with the RTL Group show how successfully the format has developed in recent years,” comments Matthias Wurm, Managing Director of SPORTTOTAL LIVE GmbH. “So we’re really looking forward to another spectacular 24-hour racing event on the Nordschleife.”

SPORTTOTAL has already been marketing the race for ADAC Nordrhein for twenty years, ensuring uninterrupted live transmission and worldwide content marketing of the event. The 24-hour race impressively underscored its position in the European racing scene with around 210,000 spectators at the Nürburgring, as well as record ratings for both TV broadcasting and streaming. In 2018, the race was broadcast on 38 stations in a total of 152 countries. The 47th ADAC TOTAL 24h Race will be held June 20-23, 2019 at the Nürburgring.
