PM: sporttotal.tv and Sportstadt Düsseldorf aiming for a strategic partnership

Düsseldorf/Cologne, 29 January 2018.

Sportstadt Düsseldorf and sporttotal.tv gmbh, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG, are aiming for a strategic partnership. The objective is to equip a number of sports facilities in the state capital with sporttotal.tv’s fully automated camera technology in order to broadcast sport events live on Internet and make them permanently accessible. This will enable the company to expand its sporttotal.tv streaming platform to include the content of a whole sports city for the first time ever. Along with football, the growth strategy will center around expansion into other sports disciplines, regional partnerships and internationalization.

“Together with partners who want to seize this opportunity and actively support it, we will be able to leverage huge growth potential quickly and with a focus on value, while providing our partners with huge value added,”

says Peter Lauterbach, CEO of SPORTTOTAL AG.

In July 2017, sporttotal.tv gmbh, which was founded in 2016, signed a ten-year contract with the German Football Association (DFB) to raise the visibility of amateur football. Together they will equip amateur football clubs in Germany starting with the fourth league downwards with special technology that enables football games to be broadcast in a high quality and fully automatically live. Spectators can, for instance, use an app (free from the store) to direct how they view a game, determine the perspective and share scenes on social media. More than 200 camera systems have meanwhile been installed throughout Germany and more than 1,000 games already streamed.
